Trust Says: Navigating Life's Twists and Turns with Confidence

Hey friend! Welcome to Trust Says.
This space is about confronting lies and holding fast to the promises of God. It’s honest. It's imperfect. And it's rooted in the kind of faith that shows up when life doesn’t go as planned. I'm glad you're here.

Let me start with a memory.

Middle school. Show choir trip. Cedar Point, Ohio.
We’d been hyped for weeks, and when we got there, the roller coasters lived up to the buzz. One that stuck with me was Gemini — fast, loud, full of wild turns. I remember clutching the safety bar and bracing for impact. We flew through drops and curves... and then just when I thought we were done, the whole ride went in reverse. Same track. Same chaos. Only this time, I couldn’t see a thing coming.

That ride taught me something I didn’t have words for at the time: sometimes life does the exact same thing.

You think you’ve made it through something hard — a season of loss, conflict, burnout, disappointment — and then boom. You’re right back in it. Same loop, different direction. And often, you’re facing backward with zero clarity about what’s ahead.

That’s when trust becomes real.

Not the polished, bumper-sticker kind of trust — I mean the deep, day-to-day kind that sticks around when fear starts talking loud.

Trust says, You may not see the outcome, but you’re not abandoned.
Trust says, This isn’t the end of the story.
Trust says, Even now, God is still good.

I think about Proverbs 3:5 often:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
That verse isn’t meant to live on a wall sign. It’s meant to anchor us when we feel like the ground is shaking.

  • When anxiety wants the steering wheel, trust helps us breathe and reset.

  • When impatience tells us to fix it fast, trust invites us to wait and watch.

  • When fear whispers worst-case scenarios, trust grounds us in truth.

This isn’t blind faith. It’s tethered faith — faith that holds to God because we can’t hold everything else together ourselves.

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 62:8 says, “Trust in Him at all times… pour out your heart before Him.”

So, if you find yourself stuck on a ride you didn’t sign up for, headed backward through something you thought you’d already survived — you’re not alone.

And even when life doesn’t slow down, trust says: God hasn’t let go.

That’s the kind of faith I’m after.
And that’s what we’ll keep chasing here — together.

Trust says, “Believe.” Mark 9:23

When the enemy says, “Fear.”
Trust says, “Courage.” Joshua 1:9

When the enemy says, “Despair.”
Trust says, “Hope.” Romans 15:13
